The wonderful 'Friends of Victoria Park' arranged an afternoon of music at
the bandstand so we could raise some funds for the Bethnal Green Memorial on
Two bands played a variety of music all afternoon, firstly
the East London Late Starters, then The Broken Swing Band. The crowds built
up and soon there were families picnicking around the bandstand and lots of
people dancing to the music.
We were able to sell some of our goods, give
out leaflets and accept donations, as Richard Desmond of the FOVP had kindly
erected a gazebo for us. It was a great afternoon and we raised £340. So our
thanks to everyone that helped out, all those people who put donations in
our buckets, to the wonderful people in the band and the Friends of Victoria
Park for organising it.

We hope you enjoyed the afternoon as much as we did.
